Day 4: Are You A Complainer or A Conqueror?

READ: Numbers 13:30

Caleb, one of the twelve spies, tries to silence the crowd and get them to stop complaining against Moses. I can only imagine the complaints: “How much do you think we can handle? How can you expect us to go up against giants? Why won’t God just give us our land?” And then there’s Caleb – full of faith, courage, confidence, and enthusiasm shouting:

“We should attack now and take the land;
We are strong enough to conquer it!”

His words hang in the air. How will they respond? Will a shout go out? Will fists start pumping? Will the banners be hoisted and the trumpets sound?

THINK:
-Why do the Israelites complain against Moses? Why was Caleb, in comparison, so fired up and confident?
-Why do we complain and what keeps us from having the spirit of Caleb – the spirit of a warrior?

PRAY & WORSHIP:
Ask God to make you aware of any negative, grumbling way in you. Ask Him to help you figure out the cause of your negativity and help you adjust your mindset to His. Ask the Lord to give us the spirit of Caleb, to know what Caleb knew. Sing a new song.
