Day 21: To Whom Much Is Given

READ: Numbers 14:22-26

With The Promised Land in sight, God tells Moses to turn around and set out for the wilderness by way of the Red Sea. Even though the punishment seems extreme, it’s not. Read closely.

The Israelites have now put the Lord to the test ten times. But more importantly, they have been witness to the glory of God on a daily basis. They have a pillar of smoke leading them by day, a pillar of fire illuminates the sky each evening, every morning bread magically appears on the ground outside their tents, and God has repeatedly shown them His signs and wonders – from the plagues of Egypt to the crossing of the Red Sea to seeing water flow from a rock.

They are without excuse. They have every reason to know and believe that God is mighty to save; and yet, with all He has shown and given them – they don’t. God has given them much and, yes, He expects them to trust Him completely.

THINK:
-Ask the Lord to remind you of His glory and signs He’s given to you…the prayers He answered, the needs He met, the help He sent, the peace He gave, the comfort He brought, etc.
-Let their memory inspire you to trust God now.

PRAY & WORSHIP:
Thank God for revealing Himself to you and to Two Rivers Church. Ask Him to show us His glory. If you are in need of a sign, ask Him for one. Pray that we will all listen to His voice and follow.
