Day 13: The Do’s and The Don’ts

READ: Numbers 14:8-9a

It’s always good to receive marching orders - you know, what you need to do and what you don’t need to do. Israel’s leaders made it clear and simple. The “Do Part”: Please the Lord. The “Don’t Part”: Don’t rebel against the Lord; and, definitely don’t be afraid.

Two ingredients come to mind that would make it possible to please the Lord and not rebel or be afraid - faith and trust. In Hebrews 11:6 it says, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him.” So, as we believe in Him and things unseen – we are pleasing God.

Psalm 27 titled, “A Psalm of Fearless Trust in God,” sums up King David’s attitude towards fear and his ability to be confident in all circumstances. David declares who God is and what He does for him enabling him to have perfect peace and victory over the enemy. If we completely trust God – trust in His character, promises, love, purposes, and presence – wouldn’t it be possible (if not almost easy) to remain obedient and proceed without fear – like David?

THINK:
-Take time to read Hebrews 11 and Psalm 27.
-What would you be able to do, how would you be able to proceed in your life if you walked in complete faith and trust in Jesus Christ?

PRAY & WORSHIP:
Remember, prayer is a dialogue - not a monologue. So while you pray, take time to listen to the voice of God as He encourages you to walk in faith and trust Him completely. What is He saying to you?
